  2. When Merle returns next week, we're going to get together so we can sort out the logistics and get our roster(s) assembled.

I saw Marcus Smith in the lobby yesterday and he said his broken leg is healed he's good to go. That's good news.

I have no intention of playing unless we end up a player short. I'll just work on the administrative stuff, organize and run some practices, and handle some photography/video at the tournament. It will be strictly a support role for me. I hope there will be others besides Merle, Gary, and I who are willing to put some effort into this tournament even though they're not playing in it.

  3. Merle Thompson, Gary White, and I are meeting tomorrow at noon to get our team(s) started. Darriel Miller informed me that nobody from the Untouchables will be participating. I didn't receive an answer from the Mod Squad, Master Batters, or SWAT. (Marcus Smith expressed interest when I saw him in the lobby last week.)

At the very least, we have enough players to field a combined TD's/PC Bricks squad without any contribution from the rest of the league. I'd like to have players from the other teams participate though.

By tomorrow, we should know if we're going to enter a "TD Bricks" team or if we'll have league-wide representation.

  4. It seems the news about this tournament didn't get out as we intended. We will try again to get more people involved. Merle, Gary and I are meeting again on Friday, January 28th. By then, we should know who our committed players are.

I talked to James Mayes today. We're going to start some informal softball workouts after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning February 1st. These workouts are open to all employees, not just those who will play in the tournament. Check back soon for the location and time.

  5. The practices will be 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Eastshore Park (officially known as Booker T Anderson Park). The first workout will be on February 1st. Sunset is at 5:33 so we'll have about an hour of sunshine. These will be light workouts to start.

The map for Eastshore Park can be found under the FHFB Softball Links over to the right.
