I seem to be the only one asking any questions. Not that isolation will stop me....
Which offices are entering teams in the tournament?
What time will the first game begin?
What is the tournament format?
What time do you anticipate the tournament will end (assuming it stays on schedule)?
Do we have a bracket yet?

Also wanted to know about accomodations...how many are planning to stay overnight friday/saturday so we can possibly get a group discount at nearest hotel??
ReplyDeleteHawk, I live in fresno and I do not recommend any hotels along highway 99, steer clear of those. There are 2 suite hotels on herndon ave off highway 41 that are brand new and nice. Other than that try to stay near downtown or clovis.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info about the hotels, Stephen. Since you're local, can you tell us anything about the softball complex? It looks pretty good in the pictures. What's the deal with the $5 charge per vehicle to enter the place? Is it a day pass? Or do we have to pay $5 every time we leave and come back? Are there any restrictions on coolers or umbrellas and canopies?

I checked with Brandon this morning. It's a round robin tournament. We have teams from Salinas (two), Lancaster, Visalia, Fresno/Merced, Bakersfield, Richmond TSC, and Richmond-Berkeley.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, Brandon thinks the first round will begin at 10:30 AM. Each team should check in 30 minutes before their first game.
All players must be SSA employees or employees at an SSA facility. The latter group would include security guards, childcare center workers, cafeteria staff, etc., who work at an SSA office but are not SSA employees.
All players will be required to present their SSA or office ID badge to verify their eligility.
If you have anything to add, Brandon, please jump in.
Brandon just told me the first game will begin at 9:00 AM. We should be prepared to check in at 8:30.
ReplyDeleteAny negative feedback for the Courtyard Marriot loctated @ 140 east shaw ave fresno ca 93710. Thanks.

The Marriott is in a weird location and would be one of my latter choices, but is centrally located and near a Highway 41 entrance. Homewood Suites on 6820 N Fresno St is newer and right next to a Highway 41 Freeway entrance.
ReplyDeleteClovis is a city right next to Fresno with some newer hotels and close to shopping and restaurants. The main street is CLovis Ave and there are a few nicer hotels there.
Thx Marshall.
